Bendik Rugaas

We had the chance to introduce Memoria Norway to Bendik Rugaas, Senior Adviser for the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs. He was born in Kirkenes and besides pointing us to additional places of interest for our project, he shared a few interesting historical facts about WWII, and also some personal stories. We are looking forward to have a more closer look to the past and future aspects of the cross-border situation in that part of the Finmark during our Summer Exploration.

0047

We had a meeting at the 0047 space in the Grønland district of Oslo. Founded in Berlin in 2004, 0047 is an organization for projects in and in between the fields of art and architecture. On the photo (left to right): Øystein Rø, Marianne Zamecznik, Espen Røyseland.

Oslo city limits

We have reached our destination: Oslo.

Long trip

Finally we are back in Norway.

Are we there yet?

There is a title of a Beatles song that perfectly describes our last hours of driving. Of course, it is NOT Norwegian Wood.

Are we there yet?

No.

Starting to get warmer outside

The sun is showing up, it's starting to get warmer and warmer with each kilometer of driving.
