Arctic Calling
Arctic Calling, that's the theme of this years Barents Spektakel / Barents Days, taking place in venues all over Kirkenes from Feb. 3 - 7. This annual event of art, music, culture along with a conference dealing with political, economical and social topics is organized by Pikene på Broen and draws people from all over world to this part of the Finnmark.

The landscape along the shortcut we took from Inari towards Norway was amazing and beautifully illuminated by a gigantic full moon.

Old habits die hard
Concerned about what's going to come, we bought some extra bottles of camping gas. Because we were curious to see this part of Finland during daylight, we already changed our regular driving and resting habits. Both filed under: wise decisions. The landscape is breathtaking and so is the cold air.

When the temperature slowly dropped down to -34 degrees C, we knew that taking the photos from inside the car was a very wise decision. Wise decisions aren't always our strength.

Sorry Santa
This time we didn't sleep next to Santa and only stopped to take a photo. We just bought our presents in Rovaniemi anyway: Parker got all the vegan! cheese he could get, which unfortunately was mozarella style only, the other two were sold out, Springer got a new pillow and nobody knows what the hell happened to his old one, and we bought a new car stereo, because singing wasn't a real alternative.
